Boulder County Cares

The Boulder Shelter street outreach program, also known as Boulder County Cares(BCC), utilizes trained volunteers that canvass the community every winter evening, distributing blankets, gloves, hats, and other warm clothing, and providing food to unsheltered homeless people who are living on the streets. BCC clients may also receive, when appropriate, transportation to the Shelter or other local care providers.

The Boulder Shelter’s Boulder County Cares operates from October 1 through April 30 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Additionally, starting fall 2017, BCC will be conducting day outreach on Tuesday (11:30am to 2:30pm) and Friday (7am to 10am).
Day outreach activities will include handing out winter supplies, providing information about local resources, and assisting with assessments for housing opportunities.

Volunteer requirements:

  • 21 years old
  • Three years good driving record and driver license

If you see a homeless person in need during these hours, please call the BCC cell phone at 303-358-7036 to request assistance.
